I attended yesterday’s CES Unveiled event for media last night. The usual, systematic mistakes were in on full display:

  • Far more PR people staffed tables than executives.
  • I can’t tell you how many people told me some version of “Oh, he’s not here. He was supposed to be, but he’s not.” The “he” is the executive.
  • I wonder how many of PR folks there were hired just before CES. So many had so few answers.

Some additional observations:

  • Bloggers outnumbered traditional press at least five to one, but what’s traditional press anymore?
  • It was a zoo in there — thousands of people, shoulder to shoulder, trying to get to small tables with one or two products each.
  • I’m pretty sure the technology “media” has less manners than the average person.
