And this is what the visual of the model looks like.
Here, you’ll see my take on the three categories of consumer electronics products: commodity products, special products, and singular products.
And for the first time, here are the two concepts combined and melded together. This is how the three categories align with the steps you need to take to create evangelists.
So, companies that have good products, pricing and distribution — all of which are challenging to attain — they merely have Commodities.
But manufacturers who have excellent communication and communication platforms can attain Special Product status.
And, finally, only companies that have Evangelists have Singular Products. It’s not the other way around: Singular Products do not create Evangelists. Evangelists can only be created by following the steps in the model below, from left to right, in order.
