John Koller, a hardware marketing executive at Sony, had this to say about the recent launch of Apple’s iPad:
“Apple’s entrance into the portable gaming space has been a net positive for Sony. When people want a deeper, richer console, they start playing on a PSP.”
Really? The release of a innovative competing portable gaming device is good for Sony? While the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable are terrific (the class of their respective categories, in my opinion), this can only be good if it will somehow improve Sony’s terribly ineffective marketing, communication and consumer education around their these products.
Perhaps it will.
