What other company on the face of the Earth — in any product category — can make a new product announcement and have it land on the front page of every newspaper in the country?
Not one. Not a car maker, or fashion designer or a home builder. Not a TV company, or a book publisher or a retailer.
Only Apple.
Of course, so much buzz and energy lead up to the announcement — not just on blogs and tech sites, but in those very newspapers — that they when the announcement comes, there is almost no choice. The front page is the only possible destination for such hyped news. It’s not even really news, is it? It’s just the most effective marketing machine on the planet.
This was the biggest product announcement (again, in any category) since the iPhone. Guess who will make the next massive introduction in a couple of years? Yep…
