If you want to grow your business, grow your lists.
In my experience with clients, if your list isn’t growing, your revenue probably isn’t either.
You need the following fields:
- Name
- Company
- Job Title
- Physical Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Company Web site
- About page Web site (if one exists)
- Linkedin profile (if possible)
Who goes on your lists?
Everyone!
Here’s who to add:
- People you’ve done business with.
- People you’ve discussed business with.
- People who have signed up for something on your web site
- Friends and family (I’m serious, they know people)
- People you think would make a good buyer for you.
Send them value. Help them. Teach them. All of your material should be around the products and services you sell, but 90 percent of what you send your list should be helpful value, NOT sales material.
Of course, allow them to unsubscribe easily.
Help people.
Make them think “If she can help me this much for free, imagine how much value I’d get if we did business together.”
