Predictable sales growth which you can plan for requires proactive action. Here are seven reasons why you should pick up the phone and call customers and prospects instead of just answer it; why you should offer additional products and services instead of only those that customers call for; why you should always ask for the business; why you should ask for referrals; and testimonials; and actively sell by communicating your customers’ testimonials to prospects. Here are seven reasons why:
One. Your customers deserve the additional value from you. Don’t keep it from them.
Two. Right now, as you read this, your customers are buying things from the competition — suffering through dealing with the competition– which they could be buying from YOU. They don’t want to buy from the competition. They’d like to buy it from you. And you would like to sell it to them. But none of that is possible, because they don’t know. Let them know. Rescue them from the competition.
Three. You deserve the additional revenue. And so does your family.
Four. When you are proactive, you are in control of your sales. You get to determine how much more money you will make each year. Because the more that you communicate with customers and prospects, the more money you will make. So, communicate!
Five. You will minimize market forces, and the impact of poor economies, which affect reactive salespeople and companies exponentially more than those that plan their communications and do what they plan.
Six. Almost nobody calls customers anymore.
We think they are getting lots of calls. And we don’t want to be one of the many. But if we call, we’d be one of the only ones. We will stand out.
Seven. Customers want us to call. They are humans, like us. All they want is to know we will not let them down. That we will not make them look bad to their customers and their bosses. They want us to be present.
Be present. Show customers and prospects that you care.
And they will thank you with their money.
