What percentage of your total products and services are your clients aware of, on average?
Do they know about 50 percent of your offerings? Thirty percent? Seventy-five?
In my work with clients — from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, from the publicly traded to the mid-size private entities — we almost always gather qualitative customer insights. These are consistently incredibly revealing. For example, most customers are aware of 50 percent or less of most companies’ offerings. And these are people you’re already doing business with! Imagine how low this number is for prospective customers.
If you want to increase your revenue by 15 percent overnight, initiate regular customers phone calls (not emails!) to inquire as to their satisfaction and, “by the way, if you’re pleased with X, did you know we are also excellent at Y?”
You’ll build relationships with customers and engage in a low-effort, no-cost activity that is guaranteed to significantly grow sales.
