Personal communication, along with certain rhinos and all Blackberry models, is on the endangered species list. In an era when anyone can use technology to shout anything to anybody at any time, the simple one-on-one communication will, ironically, help you powerfully stand out from the crowd.
So:
When you send a group email, send a separate one to a customer, for no other reason than to express appreciation for their partnership and maybe to see how you can serve them better.
When you’re thinking about emailing somebody, don’t. Pick up the phone.
Also, send hand-written notes. Nearly everyone who receives one will bring it up gratefully with you in the near future.
Let everybody else take the easy, lazy, impersonal approach. You take the extra effort, which will lead to the extra revenue growth.
