“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
— Winston S. Churchill
Success is Not Final: Do not take your customers for granted. You worked hard to attract them and keep them happy. Don’t forget to keep proactively marketing and communicating with existing customers. To keep your customers buying from you, they must hear from you, regularly and consistently. Don’t go silent. Because you can bet that they’re hearing from the competition.
Failure Is Not Fatal: “No” never means no forever. It simply means “not at this moment.” So give people another moment, to say yes. In baseball, being unsuccessful two-thirds of the time gets you into the Hall of Fame. My latest book, The Revenue Growth Habit, was rejected more than 50 times before a brilliant editor at John Wiley & Sons bought it. Now it’s the Sales Book of The Year in 2015.
It Is The Courage To Continue That Counts: Even when you don’t want to; even when you feel beaten down; even when the last thing you want to do is this thing — gather your courage and do it anyway. Think about the great value you add to your customers. Think about how lucky they are to be working with you. Think all of your past and recent successes. And then do the work success requires.
