Last week, I had two speeches to executive groups; two meetings with prospective clients to discuss what a project would look like with them; and presented a growth plan of recommended sales growth techniques to a client. We will teach these revenue growth tools to this client’s sales and customer service staff in an all-day workshop.
At each of these interactions I discussed the following:
I think the biggest missing ingredient in sales departments these days is a visible list of prospects and customers with contact details.
To sell more, we need to proactively communicate more.
But with whom?
The contact list is usually buried somewhere in the CRM, where it won’t make you a single dollar.
Or perhaps there are names in your email inbox, or a notebook, or sticky notes buried under a pile of paper.
To sell more you need to know who to proactively communicate with.
Make a list of important customers and prospects for this week on a single sheet of paper. These are people who can buy more from you. Make sure there are phone numbers next to each name. Keep it on top of your desk, in front of your face.
Every day make some communications to this list.
Contact lists on the cloud do nothing for sales. Contact lists in our conscious awareness grow sales, and income, quickly.
Tips and tools like this are detailed in-depth in my new Wall Street Journal best-seller, Selling Boldly. Buy it here.
