We only need one yes.
A prospect can tell us no countless times, but just one yes from that prospect, and you’ve succeeded.
There is no shame in no. There is not even rejection in no. (As my business advisor Alan Weiss likes to say, “Their job is to buy, and they didn’t buy. That’s not my problem, that’s their problem.”)
Don’t let yourself feel rejection when you hear no. Each no gets you closer to the yes. Each no is progress.
If you’re in sales, and you’re not hearing no a lot, you’re probably not succeeding.
Every successful person has battled through far more nos than yesses.
Which is where perseverance and resilience come in.
Keep working.
Keep trying.
And eventually you’ll get to yes.
One of the greatest things about our work is one yes from a customer destroys all of that customer’s nos that came before it.
The new Revenue Growth Video is about the difference between knowing what to do, and doing it.
