It’s halftime in the calendar year. Six months are in the books, six to go.

What went particularly well in the first half of the year for you?

What did you do well, that you can double down on over the next six months.

What did you spend significant time on that did not generate good results? Can you dramatically decrease this time in the coming months, or get it out entirely?

Looking back, what was your most significant sale of the first half? What specific actions did you take to make it happen? Think through the steps that led to this deal. Where can you replicate these steps? What other customers or prospects have the potential to also turn into this kind of significant sale?

Getting simpler now: Did your customers and prospects hear from you enough in the first six months of the year?

Did you use the telephone enough?

Did your high-potential customers see enough of you in the first half of the year?

Are you pleased with how many quotes and proposals you followed up on? Did you ask for enough referrals?

Our success lies entirely in our hands. Half the year remains. What will you do?

On a personal note, for those in America, I wish you and your family a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday. This is one of my favorite days of the year, as we gather with family and friends to celebrate the near miraculous foresight of the Founders. They built a nation where our success is determined only by how hard we work, and how much we persevere.
